“Here is where I sound off. Don’t know if that is a good thing or bad.”

Apparently, I am considered an elitist. According to the article, “Top chefs push Obama to improve food policy”, terms like “real food” and “farm-to-table” are considered “elitist jargon.” Really? By wanting fresh, non-processed food, I am looked upon as a snob? Well if so, then call me stuck-up ~ I have been called far worse. Ω

When we went to Seattle for Thanksgiving this past year, I went through some of my belongings I left at my brother’s. I found my copy of YOU: On A Diet by Dr. Mehmet Oz & Dr. Michael Roizen and decided to bring it back with me. Ever since then, I have been reading it fervently to see if it can help me in any way to lose my weight. Dr. Oz is awesome in my opinion and the book is a great read. But I had been thinking these past couple of weeks that Dr. Oz should do something to help kids with their weight, not just adults. I especially feel for kids who are overweight – the teasing, the lack of self-esteem, and the discontent they feel breaks my heart and I know first hand what it’s like. So on today’s and tomorrow’s episodes of Oprah, they will be discussing interventions with teens that are overweight. They use the term obese, but I HATE it. It sounds so derogatory. Not that overweight is any better, but…so I am looking forward to these enlightening episodes and applaud Dr. Oz for listening to me telepathically. 🙂 Ω
